Baden-Württemberg: Association calls for 80,000 new jobs for daycare centers in the state

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - There is a cry for help: Many daycare centers in the state are working so hard in terms of staff that they can hardly guarantee the care and safety of the children. This is the result that the Education and Training Association (VBE) draws from a broad survey of daycare managers in the state. "It has never been worse," said state chairman Gerhard Brand on Monday at the presentation of the results in Stuttgart.

For care of an appropriate quality, almost twice as many educational staff are needed as are currently available in the facilities, namely almost 80,000 more jobs. Those responsible must act now, said Brand. "Any further postponement would be a failure to provide assistance."
