Baden-Württemberg: Beaten with a tequila bottle: trial for manslaughter

First he slams a room door against his seven-year-old son's head, then the mother with a tequila bottle. The 30-year-old suspect is now on trial.

Heilbronn (dpa / lsw) - A 30-year-old is said to have hit a room door against the head of his seven-year-old son and then killed his mother. The trial against the man before the Heilbronn Regional Court for manslaughter begins on Tuesday (9:00 a.m.). Confronted with his behavior by the woman, the accused is said to have hit her in the head with a tequila glass bottle. The woman later died from her injuries. The boy suffered bruises.

The main hearing against the alleged perpetrator had already begun on May 2nd. However, it could not continue due to the defender's illness. If convicted of manslaughter, the defendant faces a life sentence. 13 more days of negotiations are planned for the process. The verdict will probably be made in mid-December.

In addition to the crime for which he is accused, the accused is said to have hit his partner's father so badly in November 2015 that he fell over. When the man was on the ground, the accused and his two brothers are said to have spat on and kicked him. The public prosecutor's office has therefore raised a second charge, which is to be heard together with the other proceedings.
