Baden-Württemberg: Bühler citizens fight for the title "Plum City"

Bühl (dpa / lsw) - After the votes in the municipal council of Bühl (Rastatt district) were not enough for an application for the official title "Plum City", the citizens are now putting pressure on them. Michael Vetter and supporters want to collect signatures for a citizens' initiative by the end of September. You would need around 1,650, said Vetter on Wednesday to the German Press Agency. "We assume that we will significantly exceed the required quorum." The "Badisches Tagblatt" (Wednesday) had reported on it.

In a vote in the municipal council at the end of June, 17 members voted in favor of an application for the official municipal additional designation "Zwetschgenstadt". However, that was not enough for the 75 percent approval required by the state.
