Laichingen (dpa/lsw) - A truck loaded with gas cylinders went off the road near Laichingen (Alb-Donau-Kreis), tipped into a ditch and caught fire. Some gas cylinders exploded in the fire, a police spokesman said on Wednesday. This made it difficult for the fire department to extinguish the fire. After two hours, the emergency services were able to finish the extinguishing work.
The highway was initially blocked in both directions. The driver of the truck was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. It was initially unclear why the truck left the road on Wednesday and caught fire. The extent of the damage could not yet be estimated.
