Böblingen (dpa / lsw) - Two people were seriously injured in an accident on the A81 near Böblingen. A 52-year-old crashed his car into an abandoned caravan on Saturday evening – at high speed and without braking, the police said. The 26-year-old motorhome driver had previously informed the police about the breakdown. The accident happened shortly before the arrival of a patrol.
According to police reports, the lights and hazard warning lights were on at the time of the accident. Due to the force of the impact, the vehicle was thrown to the left and stopped, badly deformed, in the opposite direction of travel. The 52-year-old's car came to a standstill after about 200 meters, it was said. The two seriously injured were taken to nearby hospitals and their vehicles were recovered using a crane.
