Baden-Württemberg: CDU parliamentary group against "gender coercion" in authorities and schools

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Binnen-I, underscore and asterisk: The Baden-Württemberg CDU parliamentary group has spoken out vigorously against gender rules in schools and in authorities. Freedom of expression and diversity mean that nobody who doesn't want to change gender has to do that, CDU faction leader Manuel Hagel told the German Press Agency on Thursday. "We've all seen how the social pressure on people who want to use a valid spelling is growing in recent times. This kind of gender compulsion doesn't work for us at all - we will oppose any attempt that aims in this direction resist resolutely."

The CDU parliamentary group decided on a corresponding paper at their closed meeting in the northern Black Forest. In it, the deputies demand that all official, administrative and school institutions in Baden-Württemberg adhere exclusively to the valid grammar and spelling regulations.
