Baden-Württemberg: Coach Schmidt on the fight for promotion: "A lot is still possible"

Heidenheim (dpa / lsw) - Despite a supposedly comfortable lead of four points over fourth place in the table, coach Frank Schmidt from the second division soccer team 1. FC Heidenheim continues to be cautious about the fight for promotion. Before the game on Saturday (1 p.m. / Sky) at Eintracht Braunschweig, the coach does not rule out that other teams could catch up to the current top group by the end of the season. "There is still a lot possible," said Schmidt on Thursday. But he is happy about the three points to start the second half of the season.

As in the 2-0 win against FC Hansa Rostock, Schmidt expects another "game of patience" in Braunschweig. Both teams are known for their switching game. "But we are preparing for the fact that we have to do more for the game than usual," said the 49-year-old from the current third in the table.

The FCH travels to Braunschweig with the best cast. Tim Kleindienst, Patrick Mainka and Lennard Maloney should be able to play again after one or the other injury and Dzenis Burnic is also part of the team training again after recovering from illness.
