Ulm/Laichingen (dpa/lsw) - A 24-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman have to answer to the Ulm district court on January 16 for the murder of their roommate. According to the public prosecutor's office on Thursday, the couple is suspected of abusing and killing the 31-year-old roommate. The victim is said to have been killed in the shared apartment in Laichingen (Alb-Donau-Kreis) at the beginning of June. In mid-July, investigators arrested the two Germans.

According to prosecutors, the victim gave money to the 27-year-old suspect for an extended period of time. When the man ran out, the couple abused him with a telescopic baton, among other things. The 24-year-old then strangled the victim. The suspects are charged with murder, among other things. Due to an oversight by the public prosecutor's office, the case has only now come to the public. Several media reported about it.
