Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen (dpa/lsw) - A 63-year-old cyclist was hit by a car on Monday evening on the state road between Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen and Stutensee (both in the Karlsruhe district) and was critically injured. As the police announced on Tuesday, the cyclist wanted to cross the state road at the level of the North Campus of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) when she was hit by the small car driving in the direction of Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen. The woman suffered serious head injuries and was taken to a hospital. The 31-year-old driver suffered minor injuries in the accident. His passenger was uninjured. The traffic lights at the entrance to the KIT Campus North were not in operation at the time of the accident.
