Digital instead of paper. Electronic files in courts and public prosecutors are the future. It is used more and more.

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The electronic file is being used in more and more courts and public prosecutor's offices in Baden-Württemberg. With the introduction at the Stuttgart Administrative Court at the beginning of June, all specialist courts, i.e. labor, financial, social and administrative courts, are fully equipped, said Justice Minister Marion Gentges (CDU). By 2026, the entire judiciary in the country, with its 171 courts and public prosecutor's offices and around 12,000 employees, will be working with electronic files.

"More than 700,000 proceedings have already been and are being conducted digitally in the courts in Baden-Württemberg, i.e. without any paper," said Gentges. The judiciary in the state is a nationwide leader in digitization. 100 courts and public prosecutor's offices in the country are now working with the new file.
