Baden-Württemberg: Entrepreneurs reject the return to the home office requirement

Stuttgart (dpa/lsw) - The planned fundamental return to the home office offer is met with resistance from entrepreneurs in Baden-Württemberg. Managing Director Peer-Michael Dick said in Stuttgart on Thursday that the development of the number of Covid infections does not justify an actual “presence lockdown” through blanket home office obligations. Previous experience with the corona pandemic has shown very clearly that mouth and nose protection and extensive hygiene protection measures at the workplace are much more effective than other measures.

Employers should again be obliged to offer employees to work from home to protect themselves from corona infections. However, there should be exceptions. This emerges from the draft bill for a Sars-CoV-2 occupational safety regulation from the house of Labor Minister Hubertus Heil (SPD). The regulation is to come into force on October 1st and apply until April 7th, 2023. A home office offer obligation expired in March.
