Baden-Württemberg: Escape via the Autobahn after an unpaid taxi ride

Leonberg (dpa / lsw) - Three men cheated a taxi bill and fled on foot via Autobahn 8 near Leonberg. One of the men feigned nausea, police said on Monday. The 31-year-old taxi driver then stopped at the shoulder. The three men left the taxi on Sunday morning without paying the bill of around 60 euros. During a traffic check, police officers became aware of two men and were also able to identify the third suspect. The men, aged between 22 and 26, were temporarily arrested and are now facing charges of fraudulently obtaining benefits.
