Karlsruhe (dpa/lsw) - EU funds can now flow to 10.8 million euros for cross-border environmental protection in the Upper Rhine region. Six new projects for the sustainable development of the German-French-Swiss region will benefit from this, as the regional council in Karlsruhe announced on Friday.
One project aims to provide those responsible with information about pollutants in the Rhenish groundwater. One of the aims is to secure the drinking water supply in the Upper Rhine Graben. According to the information, another project revolves around grape varieties for viticulture that are better able to cope with climate change.
