Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The regional directorate of the Federal Employment Agency published this morning (10:00 a.m.) in Stuttgart the number of unemployed in July. According to experts, unemployment is likely to have risen compared to the previous month. The cut-off date for the survey is July 12.
In June, nearly 219,000 people were unemployed in the southwest. The unemployment rate was 3.5 percent, higher than in the previous month.
The reason for the increase in the previous month were refugees from Ukraine, who were included in the statistics for the first time. People are no longer recorded under the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act, but in the Social Security Code (SGB) II, i.e. as Hartz IV recipients. This means that they are also included in the unemployment statistics and, according to the employment agency, can be qualified and placed more easily.
The regional employment agency has already dampened expectations that war refugees could now quickly compensate for the shortage of skilled workers in the country. Among other things, language courses and the recognition of foreign professional qualifications are necessary, it was said.
