Baden-Württemberg: Experts: Unemployment in the southwest is likely to increase

So far, the war in Ukraine has not had a direct impact on the labor market in the south-west. A trend reversal could now be imminent.

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The regional directorate of the Federal Employment Agency published the number of unemployed in June on Thursday (10 a.m.) in Stuttgart. According to experts, unemployment is likely to have risen compared to the previous month.

The reference date for the survey is June 13th. In May, around 204,200 people were unemployed in the southwest. The unemployment rate was 3.2 percent, slightly lower than in the previous month.

The labor market has so far been stable despite crises and widespread material shortages in industry. However, experts had already warned that the Ukraine war could also affect the job market in the southwest.
