Baden-Württemberg: failure: girl from Remshalden disappeared

Remshalden (dpa / lsw) - Despite all the searches, there is still no trace of a missing young person from Remshalden (Rems-Murr district). For days, emergency services have been looking for the 16-year-old, sometimes with a large contingent and sometimes in difficult terrain - without success, as a police spokesman said on Wednesday. In addition to the Red Cross, rescue and search dogs and a helicopter, the mountain rescue service was also on duty. Most recently, the search operations had focused on an area around Kirchheim unter Teck and Lenningen (Esslingen district), where the girl could have stayed. There are also rock faces and ravines in the area, according to a police spokesman.

The 16-year-old was last seen last week. She had left her parents' house on January 24 and instead of going to her school in Stuttgart, she had taken the train to Kirchheim unter Teck. According to video recordings, she boarded the Teckbahn in the direction of Lenningen at 9:17 a.m. "Then they lose track," said the police. It was initially unclear where she got off and whether she went back or continued later. It was also not known whether she used other means of transport and which ones.

According to the police, the teenager did not have any utensils for daily needs with her and probably did not plan to be away from home for a long time. It is therefore also possible that the girl drove back from Lenningen on the same day. "It cannot be ruled out that something might have happened to the girl on the way home," said a police spokesman. The investigators are looking for witnesses - especially people who also rode the Teckbahn that morning.
