Baden-Württemberg: Fatal swimming accident in Karlsruhe

Karlsruhe (dpa / lsw) - A 73-year-old died in a swimming accident in a quarry pond in Karlsruhe. According to initial findings, the bather swam out onto the lake next to a small inflatable boat, the police said on Wednesday. There he dived several times before sinking. Witnesses immediately reported the incident to the fire brigade and the German Life Saving Society (DLRG). The 73-year-old was searched for with a sonar and a rescue dog. However, the DLRG could only save the man dead.
