Baden-Württemberg: Fire brigade frees trapped hedgehogs with a hammer drill

Brühl (dpa / lsw) - On Friday evening in Brühl (Rhein-Neckar-Kreis) the fire brigade freed a hedgehog from a really awkward situation with a hammer drill. The animal got stuck in a narrow gap between two walls. According to information from the fire brigade on Saturday, the hedgehog tried to get through the gap in the wall, but got stuck completely. The animal could not be freed unharmed without tools. A careful attempt was first made to enlarge the opening with a hammer and chisel. "Since the wall proved to be very strong, larger equipment had to be used," wrote a police spokesman in his report. They finally managed to free the hedgehog with a hammer drill. After a thorough examination, the hedgehog was released unharmed.
