Baden-Württemberg: Fire destroys coach with luggage from 56 young people

Hartheim am Rhein (dpa / lsw) - A coach caught fire in Hartheim am Rhein (Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district) and spoiled the start of the holiday for many young people. 56 young people from North Rhine-Westphalia were on their way to Italy when the bus caught fire while stopping at a service area. No one was on the bus at the time of the fire on Thursday evening. Nobody was hurt. Much of the luggage burned or was badly damaged. "A large proportion of the young people were able to continue the journey in a replacement bus, but without luggage," the police said on Friday.

The Firefighters put out the fire. The bus was a total loss of around 150,000 euros. The cause of the fire is still unclear, but there are signs of a technical defect.
