Baden-Württemberg: fire in the house: residents in emergency accommodation

Heilbronn (dpa / lsw) - A fire on Boxing Day made a residential building in Oberscheflenz (Neckar-Odenwaldkreis) uninhabitable for the time being. The two families affected have been accommodated by the municipality in an emergency shelter, the police said. According to initial estimates, the building suffered material damage of at least 200,000 euros.

The fire quickly spread from the second floor to the roof structure above. According to the police, all residents of the two apartments on the first and second floor were able to leave the house in good time. One resident suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution. The cause of the fire is still unknown. Because of the heavy smoke development, the population had been asked by radio announcements to keep windows and doors closed.
