Baden-Württemberg: Fire on the car scrap site in Mannheim

Mannheim (dpa/lsw) - A fire on a scrap site in Mannheim resulted in heavy smoke on Wednesday evening. No one was injured, the city announced late in the evening. A pile of scrap caught fire in the metal processing plant. Around 150 emergency services from the fire brigade, the police and the rescue service were deployed. The cause of the fire was not yet known. Residents in the northern parts of the city were asked to keep doors and windows closed as a precaution.
