The warning strike by the Verdi union at Stuttgart Airport does not only affect air passengers. It could also get tighter on the train on Friday. And then there's the start of the holidays.

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Air travelers from Stuttgart Airport have to look for alternatives on Friday. All flights are canceled due to an all-day warning strike by the Verdi union. According to the airport, 162 connections and around 20,000 passengers are affected. Some have already been rebooked for Saturday. Flights towards the disaster area in Turkey should also not take place on Friday.

The warning strike falls on the Friday before the Shrovetide holidays in the south-west. The train therefore expects full trains, travelers should inform themselves in advance about the occupancy of their trains, it said. There are also restrictions due to construction work on the Frankfurt-Mannheim route and from Saturday also around Stuttgart and on the Korntal-Leonberg route. The police are also assuming that there will be increased travel and excursion traffic on the streets.
