Baden-Württemberg: Flooded streets due to nightly storms

Heubach (dpa / lsw) - Nocturnal storm: Thunderstorms with hail and heavy rain have spread over large parts of the southwest. In the Ostalb district, this caused the streets to be flooded at times on Friday night, such as in Heubach, where hailstones also collected on the ground. However, there was no major damage or weather-related accidents, as a spokesman for the Aalen police headquarters said on Friday.

Also in Donzdorf in the district of Göppingen, the fire brigade was deployed last night because of flooded streets. Dense cloud cover and rainfall continued on Friday, causing some cooling with a maximum of 23 degrees on the Upper Rhine and 16 degrees in the Black Forest.

According to the German Weather Service, Saturday night will still have low temperatures of 6 to 11 degrees, but on Saturday it could be up to 29 degrees again on the Rhine and Neckar. In addition, the weather experts expect a lot of sun - the rain is taking a break. On Sunday, however, the risk of thunderstorms will increase again, especially in the south of the country. Thunderstorms with stormy gusts are also possible on Monday night. Temperatures are expected to drop to between 18 and 13 degrees.
