Baden-Württemberg: Four suspected drug dealers behind bars

Mannheim (dpa / lsw) - Three teenagers and a 49-year-old are in custody on suspicion of a flourishing trade in narcotics. The 16-, 18- and 19-year-old suspects are said to have done gang business, the police and public prosecutor in Mannheim announced on Wednesday. Because of the risk of escape and blackout, a magistrate issued the arrest warrants.

The 16 and 19-year-old suspects are said to have regularly supplied the 18-year-old with various drugs, especially marijuana. The 18-year-old is believed to be the head of another group that profitably sold the narcotics to a large number of buyers. He owns a semi-automatic firearm.

In addition, he is said to have driven the car too fast in Mannheim at the end of July and lost control of the car. According to the announcement, his vehicle collided with a 55-year-old who was waiting at a tram stop. The man suffered life-threatening injuries. The 15-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries. "The 18-year-old is said to have accepted the death of passers-by with his driving style," the authorities said.

Investigators searched the apartments where the suspect teenagers live and found, among other things, several firearms, knives of various kinds such as machetes, telescopic batons, marijuana, precision scales, packaging materials and cash. In addition, the investigators received information about the 49-year-old. In his apartment they discovered, among other things, around a kilogram of amphetamine.
