Freiburg (dpa / lsw) - In Freiburg, a 40-year-old man is on trial for allegedly attacking people with pepper spray on the street. The accused is accused of dangerous bodily harm because of the incident in June last year, it said on Wednesday at the opening of the trial in the Freiburg district court.
The 40-year-old initially used pepper spray in a dispute with two young people. According to the prosecution, there was then an argument with two eyewitnesses. They got out of their car to help the young people. The defendant initially did not want to give any information about the events in court, as his defense attorney said.
A 53-year-old woman, who was initially in the car with her husband, told the court that she was attacked by the defendant without warning. You got the pepper spray right in your eyes. "I was screaming for help," she said, according to an official translation from Spanish. Her husband reported that the accused had pulled a knife with pepper spray after the attack.
