As reported by the German Weather Service (DWD) on Monday, it was minus 14.6 degrees on April 4 in Meßstetten on the Swabian Alb - the lowest spring temperature in all of Germany. In Ohlsbach, northeast of Freiburg, on the other hand, the highest temperature in Germany was measured on May 20 at 33.7 degrees.

After spring 2021 was clearly too cool, the period from March to May 2022 was back in the series of springs that were clearly too warm. According to the DWD, the average temperature in the southwest was 9.7 degrees (previous year 7.6 degrees).
