Amstetten (dpa / lsw) - A 24-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured in an accident near Amstetten (Alb-Donau-Kreis). The reason for the accident on Sunday was probably loose chippings on the road and excessive speed in a curve, the police said.
The man had lost control of his vehicle, drove into the oncoming lane and crashed into the guardrail. The impact threw him into the embankment. The motorcycle slid into an oncoming car. The 35-year-old driver suffered minor injuries. A rescue helicopter took the 24-year-old to the hospital.
