Baden-Württemberg: Heating cost subsidy will be paid out in September

Energy prices go up and up. This particularly affects people with no or low income. The heating subsidy gives them some relief.

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The one-time heating subsidy for recipients of housing benefit in the southwest costs the state around 26 million euros. This was announced by Housing Minister Nicole Razavi (CDU) in Stuttgart. It will be paid out on September 1st. In view of the sharp rise in energy prices, the subsidy is an important measure to noticeably relieve lower-income citizens who receive housing benefit.

Recipients of housing benefit receive at least 270 euros. According to the announcement, around 72,000 households in Baden-Württemberg will benefit from this. The heating subsidy is graded according to the size of the household: Anyone who receives housing benefit and lives alone receives a heating subsidy of EUR 270, two-person households receive EUR 350 and an additional EUR 70 is paid for each additional household member.
