Baden-Württemberg: Hoffenheim's newcomers at the start under Breitenreiter

Zuzenhausen (dpa/lsw) - With the two newcomers Grischa Prömel and Finn Ole Becker, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim has started preparing for the new season in the Bundesliga. The national players around courted David Raum, on the other hand, were absent from the first official unit under André Breitenreiter on Sunday.

The Kraichgau team presented themselves to the 400 applauding fans at the training ground, on time and led by the new coach, who was in a good mood. After a few exercises without the ball, Breitenreiter picked up the pace. "It was a beautiful day," he said. "The boys behaved in an exemplary manner. They had fun and enjoyed themselves and all the spectators were happy, even though we haven't played a game yet."

The 48-year-old was supported by a new assistant during the hour-long session. Frank Fröhling is coming back to Hoffenheim from Paderborn. He inherits Matthias Kaltenbach, who moved to Ajax Amsterdam.

Mijat Gacinovic and Konstantinos Stafylidis could also leave the club. While Gacinovic was not there at the start and is free for talks, the Greek left-back trained with him.
