Baden-Württemberg: Hydrogen: Hoffmeister-Kraut informs himself in Scotland

Hydrogen is seen as a beacon of hope. It can be produced using renewable energy. Economics Minister Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut found out more about this during her visit to Scotland.

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The Baden-Württemberg Economics Minister Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut (CDU) travels to Scotland for two days on Monday. The around 40-strong business delegation and the CDU politician are finding out about the topic of environmentally friendly hydrogen.

Hoffmeister-Kraut said that the production, transport and use of green hydrogen is increasingly becoming a location factor for the economic development of individual regions. Same for the southwest. "Reliable partnerships with regions of the world, with whom we share a common vision of responsible business, are essential for the business location." The partnership with Scotland brings advantages for both sides: Baden-Württemberg can provide technologies for the production of green hydrogen in Scotland, which can then also be delivered to the country.

During her trip, Hoffmeister-Kraut will also meet her Scottish counterpart Ivan McKee, Minister for Economy, Trade, Tourism and Enterprises for talks.
