Bad Wurzach (dpa/lsw) - With a risky overtaking maneuver, a 72-year-old caused an accident with four serious injuries, including an infant and his mother. According to the police, the man passed a timber truck on a state road near Bad Wurzach (Ravensburg district) despite the confusing traffic situation on Friday and collided with an oncoming car.

The 72-year-old's car turned after the collision, according to the information, and crashed sideways into the truck. In the other car were two women, ages 55 and 25, and an infant. This vehicle rolled over and remained on the roof next to the road. A rescue helicopter flew the 25-year-old passenger and her few-month-old child to a clinic. The other two injured were taken to hospital by ambulance.

According to investigators, the 72-year-old was not wearing a seat belt. He will be reported for endangering road traffic.
