Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The inflation rate in Baden-Württemberg continued to rise in May. Consumer prices were 7.4 percent higher than in the same month last year, as the State Statistical Office announced on Monday. Compared to April, the consumer price index rose by 0.9 percent. In April, the annual inflation rate in the southwest was 7 percent.
Above all, energy prices are fueling inflation. Higher inflation rates reduce the purchasing power of consumers because they can then afford less for one euro.
