Kössen (dpa / lsw) - Karlsruher SC lost 1: 4 (1: 3) in a test match against the Hungarian series champion Ferencváros Budapest. It was the second defeat of the pre-season for the second division team from Baden. "You can see that we are still missing four or five important players in training," said KSC coach Christian Eichner after the game in Kössen, Austria. The former Bundesliga defender saw room for improvement, especially in front of his own goal. "We make mistakes that are too easy. As a team, the quality has to be increased defensively," he demanded.
Stjepan Loncar gave Hungary the lead in the second minute in front of 250 spectators. Karlsruhe's Philip Heise equalized 20 minutes later, but Adama Traore (24') restored the lead with the next FTC chance. Again Loncar (37th) and Fortune Bassey (66th) completed the unchallenged victory of the Budapesters. KSC will play their next test match on Sunday (3:30 p.m.) in Zell am Ziller against Bundesliga climbers Werder Bremen.
