Gottmadingen (dpa / lsw) - Two dehydrated people were found in a truck at the border crossing to Switzerland near Gottmadingen (Konstanz district). As the police announced on Wednesday, the two 18 and 30-year-old men with Afghan citizenship drew attention to themselves in the incident on Tuesday with knocking noises. Paramedics treated the men.
Meanwhile, the driver of the truck from the customs declaration appeared. According to initial findings, the truck is said to have come from Serbia to Germany via the Balkans.
After all police measures, the truck driver was released on Tuesday. The two men did not have any residence permits and were referred to the Constance District Office. The federal police are now investigating the background to the alleged smuggling.
