Dettenhausen (dpa / lsw) - According to the manufacturer, the largest solar thermal system in Germany was presented on Friday in the municipality of Dettenhausen in the district of Tübingen. The solar thermal system from Ritter Sport was installed on the roof of their new warehouse building. The manufacturer and project developer of the system is Ritter Energie from Dettenhausen.
According to information from Ritter Sport, no other solar thermal roof system in Germany is currently of this size. 468 collectors with a total area of 2312 square meters were installed on the roof of the warehouse. They can supply up to 1125 megawatt hours of heat per year for the Tübingen municipal utility's heating network.
There are several new plants on a larger area in the industrial area of Kuecker, which interlock and deliver an ecologically oriented heat supply. The new roof solar thermal system is right next to the new energy center with a combined heat and power plant and heat storage tanks from Stadtwerke Tübingen.
