Bruchsal (dpa / lsw) - An unknown person stole a car in Bruchsal (Karlsruhe district) and committed fuel fraud and an escape from an accident. The car was unlocked in front of a house, the police said on Wednesday. According to the information, the stranger drove to a gas station on Tuesday evening and filled up without paying. On his way, the man with the stolen car collided with a parked car in Weingarten.
The car went off the road and collided with a street sign and a traffic post. When the stranger steered back onto the road, he endangered another road user, as the police said. After a few meters he stopped and fled with another person on foot in the direction of the train station. The search initiated by the police was initially unsuccessful. The police are now looking for witnesses.
