Baden-Württemberg: man flees after car accident: police dog catches him

Korntal-Münchingen (dpa / lsw) - After a head-on collision with four injured people near Korntal-Münchingen (Ludwigsburg district), the suspected cause of the accident fled with serious injuries. Emergency services found the 36-year-old in a bush with the help of a police dog, the police said on Sunday. According to the information, the man with his Sprinter on the federal highway 10 got into the oncoming lane and collided with an oncoming car.

After the accident on Sunday night, the car skidded and came to a stop across the street. Another car crashed into both vehicles. The Sprinter overturned and came to rest on the driver's side. The 36-year-old freed himself from the Sprinter and fled. After he was located by the police, rescue workers took him to a hospital, as did the seriously injured driver in the second car and the two slightly injured occupants in the third car.

The main road was completely closed for about four hours for the accident recording and the recovery of the cars. The damage was estimated at 70,000 euros. It was unclear why the accident happened.
