Gärtringen (dpa/lsw) - The police used nine patrol cars and a helicopter to pursue a motorist through the Böblingen district. According to the police, the 56-year-old was noticed by officials on Tuesday night when he drove through a roundabout in Gärtringen in the wrong direction. When they wanted to check him, he accelerated - and fled in his car through residential areas onto the Autobahn 81, left it on gravel roads and broke off his journey in Ammerbuch (Tübingen district) on his own. Police officers provisionally arrested him and confiscated his driver's license. He must expect to be charged with illegal motor vehicle racing. There was no evidence of drug or alcohol consumption.
