Baden-Württemberg: man kills his wife in Offenburg

Offenburg (dpa / lsw) - A 79-year-old man is said to have killed his 63-year-old wife in a dispute in Offenburg. The police said he informed the emergency services himself early on Friday morning via the emergency call and asked for help for his wife. Only the death of the woman could be determined. As there was evidence of a violent death, the man was arrested. There is a suspicion that he was at least less culpable due to a mental illness. The district court ordered the 79-year-old to be temporarily placed in a psychiatric hospital on suspicion of manslaughter. The background to the crime was not immediately known.
