Baden-Württemberg: Man steals valuables from swimming pool lockers

Hockenheim (dpa / lsw) - Because he is said to have broken into lockers in several leisure pools in the Rhine-Neckar area and stolen things worth several thousand euros from them, the police arrested a man from Worms in Rhineland-Palatinate. Because of the risk of absconding, the 32-year-old was brought before an investigating judge and taken to prison, the police said on Tuesday. Witnesses had observed one of his alleged actions in the Hockenheim swimming pool (Rhein-Neckar district) and called the police. He is said to have acted similarly in swimming pools in Ketsch (Rhein-Neckar district) and Mannheim, and thefts in other pools would be checked. Investigators found stolen cell phones, tablets and cash in his apartment. The suspect also allegedly stole car keys from lockers and stole valuables from vehicles in the parking lot.
