Heidelberg (dpa / lsw) - Because he allegedly wanted to kill the supervisor of his shared apartment in Heidelberg with a knife, a man has been taken into custody. The 24-year-old is suspected of attempted manslaughter in combination with dangerous bodily harm, as the police and prosecutors announced on Tuesday. The 44-year-old caregiver was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The suspect is said to have physically attacked and knifed his supervisor at the young adult shelter on Thursday. The motive was initially unclear, as a spokesman for the prosecutor said. It was only when another resident rushed over that the alleged attacker let go of the supervisor and attacked other people in the apartment. They and the injured person were able to escape and lock the apartment door from the outside. The police arrested the suspect in the shared apartment.
