Kehl (dpa / lsw) - A drunk without a driver's license drove his unregistered car into the central barrier on the federal highway 28. The 37-year-old left the roadway to the right shortly before Kehl (Ortenaukreis) on Thursday night with a blood alcohol level of one and a half, according to a police spokesman. The man flattened a delineator, then drove back onto the road and finally crashed into the central barrier.
The car was totaled, according to police. The man came to the station unharmed and gave a blood test. He now faces fines and the suspension of his driver's license. The road was temporarily closed in both directions due to clearance and accident recording.
