Baden-Württemberg: Many positions in the housing department are still vacant

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The newly created Ministry of Housing apparently has problems filling vacancies. More than 20 percent of the civil service positions are still vacant, according to a response from the department to a parliamentary inquiry from the FDP. The Liberal politician Erik Schweickert said on Thursday in Stuttgart: "This confirms our opinion once again that this new foundation is superfluous and that far too much energy is going into the organization and structural development."

Finance Minister Danyal Bayaz (Greens) and Housing Minister Nicole Razavi (Greens) are now also opening up the opportunity in the upcoming budget negotiations to save here and to let the money flow into content instead of structures. "I therefore demand that this superfluous new ministry be reversed and reintegrated into the Ministry of Economics as it has been tried and tested."
