Baden-Württemberg: Minister of the Interior thanks the Black Forest Mountain Rescue Service for the 100th

Feldberg (dpa/lsw) - Interior Minister Thomas Strobl thanked the helpers of the Black Forest mountain rescue service for their commitment on the occasion of the 100th anniversary. "You make an important contribution to the rescue service and disaster control in Baden-Württemberg," said the CDU politician on Sunday. "The Bergwacht Schwarzwald pursues a remarkable goal: to help people in need, regardless of who they are or how they got into their needy situation." This beautifully expresses the ethos of many helpers in civil protection: "Solidarity and humanity, help where help is needed, join in and tackle it - regardless of the person!"

The Black Forest Mountain Rescue Service celebrated its anniversary on Saturday on the Feldberg with a day of action. Two weeks ago, a mountain service took place with the Archbishop of Freiburg, Stephan Burger, on the Hörnleberg. The around 750 active mountain rescuers in the Black Forest are said to be on duty around 1,500 times a year.
