Baden-Württemberg: Modernization of the Gäubahn: line partially closed

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Rail travelers must expect major restrictions in the area of the Gäubahn in the coming months. Various work on the tracks and bridges between Rottweil and Singen and Singen and Schaffhausen will be carried out on the route by mid-July, as Deutsche Bahn announced in Stuttgart on Tuesday. During the summer holidays, work is being done around Horb on the two-track expansion and on the new electronic signal box. Due to the work there are changes in the timetable and train cancellations. The railway uses buses for passengers.

At the same time, according to the announcement, there is bridge work in Rietheim and Engen. In addition, ten kilometers of track between Engen and Singen will be renewed. The railway line between Rottweil and Singen will therefore be closed from Friday, June 10th to Sunday, June 19th. Due to work on a passage in Gottmadingen, the route between Singen and Schaffhausen was partially closed from June 26th to July 10th.

The total investments in the current year and 2023 for the two-track expansion of the Gäubahn in the Horb-Neckarhausen section and the new electronic signal box in Horb amount to around 106 million euros, as a spokeswoman announced.
