Baden-Württemberg: Negotiation for anteroom posts at Palmer postponed

Reutlingen (dpa / lsw) - The court hearing for a post in the antechamber of Tübingen's mayor Boris Palmer surprisingly only begins after the election in the university town. A court spokeswoman announced on Friday that the conciliation date would not take place until November 8th. October 20 was originally scheduled - just three days before the mayoral election in Tübingen. The appointment was postponed at the request of the lawyer for the city of Tübingen because he was unable to attend the originally scheduled date for personal reasons. If a second ballot becomes necessary in the search for the next mayor, it will take place on November 13th.

The plaintiff, currently on maternity leave, claims she was not considered for the post because she disclosed a past love affair with Palmer during the interview. The city administration disagrees with this representation.

The employee was rejected, among other things, because she did not want to start the job full-time as advertised, the city administration said. The application process went smoothly. Palmer himself was not involved in the application process. The university town wants to apply to the labor court to dismiss all points of the lawsuit.

Palmer's membership in the Greens is suspended until the end of 2023 because of a dispute over taboo violations and allegations of racism. In the election at the end of October, he will therefore not stand for the Greens, but as an independent candidate.
