Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Circle player Lukas Laube and backcourt player Jonas Truchanovicius are switching to the Bundesliga handball team TVB Stuttgart with immediate effect. Laube last played for GC Amicitia Zurich in Switzerland and will receive a contract until June 2026, as announced by the Stuttgart team on Wednesday. Lithuanian international Truchanovicius comes to Stuttgart from HK Motor Zaporizhschja and has signed a working paper until June 30, 2024.
"We are happy that we were able to win two more reinforcements for our team," said TVB Managing Director Jürgen Schweikardt. "We are convinced that Lukas Laube can help us in the second half of the season. Jonas Truchanovicius was originally scheduled to switch to the new season. However, in order to guarantee him the best possible conditions for his rehabilitation, we brought the change forward."
Truchanovicius tore his posterior cruciate ligament in the summer of 2021 and tore a muscle fiber while playing for the national team in January. He is supposed to compensate for the departure of Ivan Sliskovic, whose contract will expire in the summer.
