Baden-Württemberg: Organizers are satisfied with the Christmas market in Stuttgart

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - According to the organizers, the Stuttgart Christmas market has been visited by over three million people. The number of visitors is only slightly below the level before the Corona pandemic. "We have reached our expectations and even slightly exceeded them," said Andreas Kroll, Managing Director of in.Stuttgart Veranstaltungsgesellschaft. The market ends on Friday (today) after 31 days.

The Christmas market is the largest in the South West and regularly attracted between three and a half and four million people on average before the pandemic in recent years. This year there were about 55 fewer stands. This did not have a negative impact, Kroll said. The dealers are mostly satisfied. The gaps were deliberately not filled with food stands, it said. There were also many visitors from abroad. The booths have been particularly popular with people from Switzerland, Austria, Italy and France.
