Baden-Württemberg: Paritätischer calls for a permanent 9-euro ticket for FSJler

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Anyone who completes a voluntary social year (FSJ) should continue to benefit from the 9-euro ticket after the end of August from the point of view of the parity of Baden-Württemberg. The approximately 13,300 volunteers every year not only use the time after school sensibly, but also contribute to strengthening democratic society, the welfare association said on Friday in Stuttgart. The association demanded that this personal commitment should be valued with a continuation of the cheap ticket for volunteers.

"The travel costs to work can account for up to a third of the pocket money," said CEO Ursel Wolfgramm according to the announcement. FSJler usually receive a few hundred euros pocket money per month. The 9-euro ticket for local transport expires at the end of August. A possible successor plan is currently being discussed.
