Baden-Württemberg: Police are looking for a large number of missing 16-year-olds

Remshalden (dpa / lsw) - With a large contingent of emergency services, the police and rescue organizations searched for days in sometimes difficult terrain for a missing youth from Remshalden (Rems-Murr district) - without success. In addition to the Red Cross, rescue and search dogs and a helicopter, the mountain rescue service was also on duty, the police said on Tuesday. The search operations at the weekend focused on an area around Kirchheim unter Teck and Lenningen (Esslingen district), where the girl could have stayed. There are also rock faces and ravines in the area, according to a police spokesman. There has been no further trace of the 16-year-old since last week.

The girl left her parents' house on January 24 and took the train to Kirchheim unter Teck instead of going to her school in Stuttgart. According to video recordings, she boarded the Teckbahn in the direction of Lenningen at 9:17 a.m. It was initially unclear where she got off and whether she drove back or continued later. It was also not known whether she used other means of transport and which ones. According to the police, she did not have any everyday utensils with her and probably did not plan to be away from home for a long time. The investigators are looking for witnesses - especially people who also rode the Teckbahn that morning.
